Interviewing OddButtonz (Chelsee Burgess) was a true treat. A dynamic artist with 15 years of creative experience and a strong presence in the XRPL community. The name OddButtonz springs from a fascination with buttons, intricate objects that captivated her imagination with their detail, texture, and charm. The “Odd” reflects her delight in being different, unconventional, and boldly unique. The “Odd” symbolizes her joy in embracing the unconventional, celebrating individuality, and standing boldly apart. OddButtonz work blends whimsy, surrealism, and fantasy into deeply personal portraits.
In our conversation, she opened up about her journey as a creator, mother, and wife. Her partnership with her husband, Mr. Burgess, inspired not only me but the audience. Her collections are BagHeadz, Imaginarium, Portraitz, and RadBitz. BagHeadz is a generative art project in collaboration with her husband, turning the idea of being left holding the bag or not fitting in as a reflection of her childhood. Both Imaginarium and Portraitz are gateways into the OddButtonz world. Her hand-drawn artworks are intimate, textured, and full of personality. RadBitz is a newer project that will be dropping soon. Having the opportunity to interview a woman making waves in Web3 was an unforgettable experience.
